Player ratings: Noni Madueke fires Chelsea into three goal advantage against Legia

Chelsea put in a professional shift to take a comfortable 3-0 lead back to Stamford Bridge from Warsaw.

Second half goals from Tyrique George and Noni Madueke sealed the win, in what was a pretty settled performance from Maresca’s side.

Filip Jorgensen – 7

Nice for him to get a clean sheet tonight, also made a pretty good save fairly late on to preserve it. Comfortable night all in all though.

Josh Acheampong – 7

Really really solid tonight. Great on the ball, looked really composed in what first felt like a quite intimidating atmosphere. Should definitely play the second leg.

Tosin Adarabioyo – 6

Decent, nothing out of the ordinary just helped tick things over throughout the game, and was fairly comfortable throughout.

Benoit Badiashile – 7

The same as Tosin really, had a pretty tidy night but probably edged it compared to his central partner. Pleased to see him play well.

Malo Gusto – 6

Didn’t think all too much to his performance tonight. It was pretty standard but given he played on the left side I’ll allow some credit.

Reece James – 7

Really good tonight I thought in the midfield, good in his duels and made three key passes to. Felt like he really dictated the game.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 7

One of his better nights of the season, feels like he’s in a good place at the moment. Was all across the pitch, got stuck in to a lot and had a few half chances, maybe unlucky not to score.

Jadon Sancho – 7

A much better second half from him with two pretty nice assists. Didn’t really offer much in the first 45 but glad he managed to get going in the end.

Cole Palmer – 5

Never really involved in that first half. Probably didn’t help that we were quite laboured and slow throughout. Another 45 in the tank though, hopefully Sunday he’ll get going again.

Tyrique George – 7

Finally his first Chelsea goal! And he really deserved it tonight. Worked hard, made things happen in a dull first half. Really happy for him.

Christopher Nkunku – 5

Poor again, hardly involved but unlucky with the missed penalty. Will probably play the second leg given its a dead game now.

Substitutes:

Levi Colwill – 6

Came on and did fairly okay, not a lot to write home about.

Noni Madueke – 8

Really bright when he came on, two nicely taken goals from being in the right place at the right time. Will do him good.

Marc Cucurella – 7

A standard tidy performance, helped us move the ball quicker when he came on as well.

Mathis Amougou – N/A

Shumaira Mheuka – N/A

Enzo Maresca – 8

Got it spot on tonight. Controlled first half to take the atmosphere out of the game, and picked them off in the second half. A good away performance.
