Player ratings: Reece James caps off second half masterclass at the City ground

What a win a big three points for Chelsea as they sail into the top four. A very much improved second half performance has led to us being dominant in the second half.

Sanchez: 6

Not much to do throughout the game, claimed 1 vital cross which could’ve led to a goal but overall decent once again

Reece: 9.5

Solid once again at RB, his duel winning and his general play and passing has improved a lot. Absolutely unplayable second half and got his deserved goal.

Chalobah: 6

Struggled with the physicality of playing against Awoniyi but grew into the game more and more and was the right place right time when he had to be.

Achaempong: 7

Like Chalobah he struggled at 1st to deal with the physicality but then as the game progressed, he learned how to deal with the forest number nine, I had some nice moments at the back and one quite a lot of ground duels.

Great header, too.

Cucurella: 7.5

Felt like The Rock and our defence to be honest with you there were moments where he saved us on the left-hand side and see the most composed.

Santos: 5.5

Weird analysis for Santos because two of our best moments going forward came through him but overall during the game we looked lacking physicality and look like you could get overrun at any time.

Lavia: 7

Looks pretty solid in the middle and was getting stuck in there, obviously not to the level of Caicedo but we have suddenly missed having a defensive play that love you on our team.

Neto: 8

Severely poor throughout the game didn’t offer much going forward and killed almost every attack. Second half much better, looked extremely lively and was influential in the first 2 goals for us.

Joao Pedro: 6

Some great moves on the half term but physically against the forest Centre back he struggled a little bit.

Garnacho: 2

Extremely poor didn’t really seem to get into the game much and when he had an opportunity to break forward, he couldn’t really control the ball.

Subs:

Guiu: 8

Instant impact off the bench and was extremely influential in winning the freekick for Neto’s goal. Worked the channels very well and caused a problem for the forest defence.

Caicedo: 8

Looked like a leader coming on and kept things ticking in midfield and won a lot of ground duels.

Gittens: 5

Worked hard down the channel but overall lacked quality once again.

Estevao: N/A

Tosin: N/A

Maresca/Caballero: 9

No one could complain about the starting 11 again as it was the same against Liverpool. And the changes made at halftime were influential to us when of the game because the managers saw that it wasn’t working.
