Chelsea take a huge step towards Champions League qualification with an important 1-0 win at home against Everton.
Some key performances across the board, and finally a goal for Nicolas Jackson!
Robert Sanchez – 9
Near on perfect today, just wow! He made a superb save late on to keep us ahead, including showing strong aerial presence with some impressive high claims late on.
Moises Caicedo – 8
Monstrous as always. Played from right back for the majority of the game and was good throughout, didn’t allow much down his side and was comfortable in possession as he usually is.
Trevoh Chalobah – 8
A really good day for him today. Am impressive nine clearances and hardly misplaced a pass. One of his best showings since coming back in January.
Levi Colwill – 7
Got better as the game went on for me. Really struggled to control Beto in the first half but did certainly improve. A good day for him.
Marc Cucurella – 7
Also good again, never expect any different. Was a threat going forward and generally solid defensively.
Romeo Lavia – 7
Really good to see him back today. Grew into the game and had some nice moments throughout. Important 60 minutes in his legs and hopefully he’ll be key for us in the rest of the run in.
Enzo Fernandez – 7
Didn’t think it was his best day, but did get an assist for our only goal of the game. Felt he rushed things a bit at times, trying to play passes sooner than needed – at least felt that way from inside the ground.
Noni Madueke – 8
Quite liked him on the left side today, made him unpredictable and he did still cut inside onto his right this time, unlucky with two good efforts. A change that makes us a little harder to play against?
Cole Palmer – 5
A standard five because he wasn’t ever in the game yet again. Was constantly dropping deep but not able to make anything happen. A quiet one.
Pedro Neto – 6
Pretty lively again, worked hard as always but just lacked much of a final product this afternoon.
Nicolas Jackson – 6
A very in and out performance even despite the goal. His hold up play very inconsistent, constantly falling to the floor too.
However, did get our important winner and he took it very well.
Substitutes:
Reece James – 5
Not much to say, came on and kept things ticking over.
Jadon Sancho – N/A
Tyrique George – N/A
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – N/A
Enzo Maresca – 8
Got it right today. Tempo was better, controlled the game bar probably the latter stages where Everton grew into it, and our structure was good again. Also a fan of his tweak with Noni on the left.
