So November is about to arrive and historically a nervy time for Chelsea fans as we have been really below par in this part of the year for the last few seasons. But things are looking alot brighter this time around with Jose at the helm and the team finally starting to dominate opponents . The winning mentality is back. Jose is back.
So let us look into our next four fixtures heading into November with each one of them equally important for our title chances in the EPL, Champions League and Capital One Cup.
27 October – Chelsea vs Manchester City (Stamford Bridge) EPL
It is one of the most eagerly awaited games of the season and Chelsea host City on Sunday hoping to extend their lead over the Manchester based outfit to 4 points. City have been impressive at home having won all their games but their away form has been a sign of worry for Manuel Pellegrini and his men as they have mustered only 4 points from 4 games on the road. The Blues of London on the other hand have also been pretty impressive at home so it will be fair to suggest that Chelsea have the slight edge in this encounter. I will go for a hard fought 2-1 victory and will tip Hazard and Eto’o to score. This win will be of prime importance if Chelsea are hopefully to win the title come next May.
29 October – Arsenal vs Chelsea (Emirates Stadium) COC
Arsenal have been flying high in this season after spending years in the wilderness when it came to winning titles but Arsene Wenger has finally been able to shape up a solid team that can win any title on offer. Chelsea travel to the Emirates hoping to cut short the momentum of their bitter rivals. Teams generally tend to use The Capital One Cup as a nurturing ground for young talent and we may not witness both teams at full strength but nonetheless it will be an exciting game to watch as Chelsea has amazing bench strength and the likes of Mata are sure to start. Arsenal have taken a major blow having lost at home to Borrusia Dortmund in midweek and i would go for a 1-0 Chelsea victory. It will be tight but we will get across the line.
2 November – Newcastle vs Chelsea (St James’ Park) EPL
Newcastle have not made a particularly good start to the EPL campaign and are currently lying in 10th place but there is no room for complacency as Chelsea travel to the tyne side hoping to win back to back away games in the league. The likes of Johan Cabaye and Ben Arfa can be a handful for us but the wining momentum is i think what will make the difference in the end with Chelsea securing a comfortable 3-1 victory. Many of us still remember that horrendous game at St James’ last season where Chelsea were caught on the counter once too often and lost 3-2 but this time around it will be alot more different as Jose’s defense is compact and Smooth. Comfortable victory for me.
6 November – Chelsea vs Schalke 04 (Stamford Bridge) UCL
After a disappointing matchweek 1 in the Champions League, Chelsea have bounced back strongly with convincing away wins at Staeua and Schalke. But we have just not qualified yet. Chelsea will host Schalke in a must win home game on 6th November which will more or less guarantee a place in the next round for the Blues. Having won comfortably already, we will make no further mistakes as we did against Basel and it will be another happy European night at home and I am going for a 3-0 victory yet again. Torres will again get the nod to start the match and we don’t say it very often now but he is more than likely to score , Our Nando is back . In Europe at least.
All in All, Things are looking bright for the Blue Army and fingers crossed we will get all the right results as predicted above. Keep the Blue Flag Flying High !!!
