Senior players, do they deserve their contracts?

Ok, I’m going to talk about our +30 years old aged players with remaining contract with Chelsea. Are they still good enough to be in our squad? Are they performances worth their wages?
1. Petr Cech
Big Pete, Chelsea number #1, one of the best goal keepers of the world if not the best. Has done a lot for Chelsea since coming from Rennes in 2004. He is probably our most consistent player now.

Cech signed 4 years contract extension after we won UEFA Champions League trophy last season. That means he has 3 more years contract. And I think until the end of contract or at least 1 or 2 more seasons, there is no way for another GK can take his place if he keeps playing this way, even Thibaut Courtois.
He earns £100k per week, and I think he deserves it. Nothing I can criticize about this lad, he is incredibly amazing every season.
2. John Terry
JT26, our captain, my favorite ever Chelsea player, was just voted as best england centre back in last two decades in Sky polling. I couldn’t even decide which is more solid between JT and Chinese great wall.
But now, he is 32 years old, he lost his agility, pace, and even defending ability. And his injuries on last season, made it even worse. He retired from England National Team, couldn’t even start 30 of 69 games all competition. From 14 PL games, he scored 4 goals. Makes him still the most goals defender in Premier League history
He earns about £175k per week. That’s too much for bench player. His contract remains until the end of next season.

What I love from JT is he doesn’t mind being benched by the manager, he knows his level now.
“I think I’m going to the bench again” That’s what Terry said after being nutmeg-ed by Mata in training.
He loves this team, and will support it even from the bench. So I think he deserve contract extension IF he accept pay cut. He has to retire here, Chelsea.
If he won’t accept pay cut, he can leave, it’s hard to let a legend and captain go though. but it must be great for our youth like Akè, Omeruo, Bruma, and Kalas.
3. Ashley Cole
If we compare his performances to what Azpilicueta has done on the right this season, or Baines for Everton, it would be a fool to call him “Best LB in the World”.
This english signed two years contract extension with wage raising (WTF) to £200k per week.
He has been awful this season for me. LB was the weakest role in Chelsea after double pivot and striker last season. Ashley has done very few to help Hazard on the left, and wasn’t as good as him at his peak on defending. I can even say, Bertrand played better than him in recent EL games. Bertrand did good overlap and run a lot to help the LMF.
So I think Ashley doesn’t deserve 2 more years contract and £200k per week, and need to be sold soon. There are Bertrand, and Aanvolt in our squad, or maybe we can sign a LB this summer.
4. Frank Lampard
Super Frankie Lampard. No one can deny his scoring ability, scored 203 goals for Chelsea, made him Chelsea all time top scorer, highest goals midfielders in Premier League history, and the second after Thierry Henry among all players in PL.
Sadly, apart from goals, he gives nothing. In 4-2-3-1 formation, he usually played as DMF. As DMF, you have to defend, fill the gaps of back 4 if one of them over lapping, play the ball, control the tempo of the game, flow the ball to front 4, and support the attack. I know it sounds really hard, but it’s true, DMF is the main role of a club for me. And yes, none of our DMFs can do all those jobs. So we really need one this transfer window
Frankie doesn’t have a place in 4-2-3-1 for me, was good when we played 4-3-3 formation. But if we keep using 4-2-3-1, he has to get used to the bench. And he hates bench
lamp frankard
One thing I don’t like from Lampsy is his ego. He cares more about his goals and records than the team. He was one of the reasons of AVB sacking. He moaned about bench, unlike Terry
And I think he probably deserve his one year extension after breaking Bobby Tambling’s record , BUT not his £150k per week. Many rumours said that he accepted pay cut, but he didn’t! He signed one year extension with around his current salary.
But I don’t mind if he goes. We can give a shout to Josh McEachran, Romeu, or sign a proper DMF this transfer window.
I love all these legends, but I think we have to move on, and give chance for youngsters to write Chelsea history. We’re club, we’re far more than legends
Oh, and I’m sharing my thought with you, I write what I see, not what you all want to read. It will be appreciated if you send me your comments and opinions about this article, not abusing me. Being a realist doesn’t mean you don’t love the club. -Crissandy
