Several bids rejected for Jamie Gittens as Chelsea failed to secure any CWC signings

Chelsea have seen several bids rejected today for Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens.

After walking away from the Mike Maignan deal, Chelsea pivoted quickly to Gittens.

Chelsea sent in two bids, one worth £42m and then one worth £50m, but could not agree on the structure of the deal.

Dortmund held firm and Gittens is understood to be annoyed with the situation. He is due to play in the Club World Cup.

Chelsea are expected to continue talks where you would image that the price will go down when there is no tournament signing panic.

The June 1-10 mini window gave clubs a chance to sign and register players for the Club World Cup group stages, but it seemed that the large majority of clubs were bulking up their asking prices due to knowing clubs wanted players for the tournament.
