“The Door Is Open” – Mourinho Tells Mata and Essien

Jose Mourinho has informed Juan Mata that, the door is open for any player who wants to leave the club.

The Portuguese, witnessed his side trash Southampton 3-0 at the Saint Mary’s Stadium and has stated he won’t block the chance of any of his players who wish to leave the club, during his Post-Match Interview.

It Could be recalled that during the course of the game when Juan Mata was substituted, He reacted Furiously and Posed Angry Gestures.

The Former Valencia Man, did not shake Mourinho’s hand after being withdrawn in the 53rd minute and flung his arms up in the direction of the touchline, where Mourinho was standing.

“I want to keep him. I don’t want him to go. That is my opinion, my wish, but my door is open,” the Chelsea manager said.

“The club’s door is open too so when a player wants to speak to us we are there waiting for them.
“If you are asking do you want the club to sell him? I don’t want to.”

Jose Mourinho was also asked about the future of Ghanian Defensive Midfielder, Michael Essien whom his agent stated that, he could leave the Bridge .

Fabien Piveteau (agent): “He( Essien) will leave Chelsea. He wants to play more, and after talking to Mourinho has made this decision.”

Mourinho said, he would have loved to keep the Midfielder but he dosen’t Guarantee, Playing time.

“I offer nobody – not Michael, not nobody (guaranteed playing time),” the Portuguese said.

“I understand that players think about national team, the World Cup and playing regularly, but my players have to think of the team before the players. Michael knows that perfectly.”
