The Gardens of Eden

It’s been a while since I wanted to write an Eden Hazard appreciation article so here it finally is.

This is my favorite phrase – ‘many things can be said about..’ Eden – so let me try saying them. Pace, powerful shot with both legs, amazing ball control, phenomenal abilities as a playmaker, full of confidence. That’s probably part of the list. Eden is something special.

He gives you pleasure. What he does at his age impresses me. He helps others to play, for me that is his strength. He is intelligent when he plays the game.

-Zinedine Zidane

And when a mastermind like Zidane (who I personally consider the best player in the world, though retired) says something like that, then you know that the player he refers to is pretty damn good. And Eden is proving himself every single game. He’s played in every 54 games this season, scoring 12 and assisting 17 goals. He’s still no Juan Mata, but he’s 3 years younger. And, no offense to our best player in the last two years – the little Matagician, but Eden’s potential is even bigger. Together with Oscar, they form the so called ‘Three Amigos’ – three short brilliant players – the magician, the potentially best one & the European master.

Eden is the first player in the history of the Premier League to win the Man of the Match award in the first 3 games of the season. I’m just going to say that the phrase ‘instant impact’ now has ‘Eden’s first game for Chelsea FC’ in the Oxford dictionary. Throughout his first season, he’s been a true relevation.
