The Ricketts Family’s bid which was widely disliked by Chelsea supporters due to sporting and human reasons have pulled out of the race to buy Chelsea by choosing not to submit a bid ahead of the final deadline.
The full statement :
“The Ricketts-Griffin-Gilbert group has decided, after careful consideration, not to submit a final bid for Chelsea FC “
“ In the process of finalising the proposal, it became increasingly clear that certain issues could not be addressed given the unusual dynamics around the sales process “
“ We have great admiration for Chelsea and its fans and we wish the new owners well “
It’s understood that The Ricketts Family’s bid led by Tom and Laura Ricketts was starting to win over some match going fans but they were still disliked on social media platforms.
The final bidders are confirmed to be Todd Boehly’s consortium, Sir Martin Broughton’s and Stephen Pagliuca’s consortiums.
