The Winners and Losers of 2012-2013 Part 1

This article is going to be my views on the winners and losers of each position in our team:
GoalKeeper:
The winner:

Undeniable that Cech is one of our Best goalkeepers we have ever had at Chelsea. He has fast reactions, great reflexes and leads from the back. He holds the record for the most clean sheets in the Premiership.
The Loser
Jamal Blackman, I thought this lad desereved a bit more of a chance, he was in and around the 1st team which was very good for him and I do believe he has a future here, just think he should of got more game time.
Right Back
The Winner

It is Dave. For his first season he has done extremely well, playing well a the beginning being a second fiddle to Ivanovic but then gradually growing into the role and finally taking that starting spot from Brana. He has done well to hold down that spot and he has shown us what he is made of and that is great attacking ability and is true Spainish player as he is great passer and ball player, he spots a great though ball and has set up some goals and started attacks from his position.
The Loser
I only see it as Todd Kane. He was sent out on Loan in January and was only kept till then due to the fact Di Matteo wanted to keep and give him a chance. He went out on loan to Blackburn and from April onwards he played every game for them and helping them survive from being relegated. he played well and is a regular in the England U19’s and has been impressing in the U21’s for Chelsea before going on Loan and impressing there.
Centre Back
The Winner

It’s a tie for me between Cahill and Ivanovic. Both have been solid for us this season and have been helpful at both end’s of the pitch scoring goals and stopping them. Cahill does his usual last ditch tackles and Terry esque blocks, Ivanovic with his no nonsense approach made them a strong partnership the only problem they really had was they where not all that fast but Cahill is fast for a CB and both always gave it there all.
The Loser
Nathan Ake. The only reason I have put him down was because I think he should of got more game time, the only reason. When he played he played well with confident performances, I just felt he should of played more as with the injuries we had and the amount of games we had he should of had more game time. I can see him becoming a very dominate figure in our team in the future we have a lot of young players like that.
Left Back
The Winner
Ashley Cole for me is the winner he has had another consistent season with only a few blips which where not really noticed during games apart from all the cinicles attacking him. He has played well under pressure as always. I can see him being our first choice for 2 more seasons then either moving on, retiring or becoming our second choice left back.
The Loser
I think its Ryan Bertrand as compared to last season he hasn’t featured as much, he has been injured abit but when he has played he has played well. He has had a boost over this season though he won his first appearance for England first team and during the summer he was part of the Great Britain Football team in the Olympics. Where he played left wing for two games and then played left back for the rest. I can see him being kept and played at left back, but as he is a Left winger converted into a left back he could play further up the pitch.
