Frank Lampard, perhaps unsurprisingly, believes that Chelsea would be losing a top class player if Chelsea do not agree a new deal.

Lampard told the media that discussions are ongoing over a new deal and believes that Mason has been the standout player since his integration into the Chelsea side.

Frank said: “I think there was a small drop in form, it’s more than understandable, every player has it, especially in their developing years”

“There is no doubt for me that Mason is a top player in what he brings to the team, with and without possession”

“Form will always waver slightly, but the top players manage to gain consistency, and for a player who has been Chelsea Player of the year in a couple of seasons with a lot of top players around him – people think it’s easy to play with top players around you, it’s not easy to be the standout one and he has managed to to that”

Mauricio Pochettino is rumoured to be a big fan of the Englishmen as the former Tottenham manager closes in on the Chelsea managerial position for the 2023/24 campaign.
