Thibaut Courtois

Thibaut Nicholas Marc Courtois, hopefully part of Chelsea’s
Thibaut Courtoisfuture. Apparently he is the best young Goalkeeper of world football (Not that over-rated llama faced De Gea). And here I’m gonna share my opinions about this 1.98m rising star.
Do you know when he was a child, his first role is Left Back? Yeah it’s truth, he was a LB when he joined a local club Bilzen V.V . It all changed after he joined Racing Genk. He turned become a goalie and was saying that Edwin van Der Sar and Petr Cech as his idols and influences.
He started his professional career in the same club, Racing Genk, while he wasn’t even 17 years old yet. Became a regular starter in 18 years old. He helped Racing Genk to win the  Belgian Pro League in 2010/11, won Player of The Season of that club, and won The Best Goalkeeper of that league. What a great achievement since he was just 19 years old.
In July 2011, he had an agreement and decided to join Chelsea FC in fee about £8m and 5 years contract deal. I don’t know who’s behind this deal, but whoever him/her, well done.
He went on loan to Atletico Madrid on 26 July 2011 to replace David De Gay (It’s really De Gea) which moved to Manchester United. He was chosen as first GK after his great performances, 4 clean sheets in 6 games, at the beginning of the season.
He was having good days in Atletico in 2011/12, under Diego Simeone management, Atletico won UEFA Europa League trophy at the end of the season.
Courtois extended his loan contract with Atletico for 2012/13 as Cech was still incredibly brilliant under the goal post of Chelsea. He has improved become a better goal keeper last season. Started the season with UEFA Super Cup trophy, after winning against his own team (more annihilating to be honest with 4-1 on te result) , Chelsea FC.
He was one of the key players of Atletico Madrid success to end the season at third place (qualify for Champions league next season) and was on the spotlight when Atletico defeated Real Madrid in Copa Del Rey final. His worldie saves helped Atletico to win Copa Del Rey trophy, and he was awarded as Man of The Match in that game.
Courtois played consistently good in the league, he only conceded 29 goals a season (37 matches). That means he conceded 0.76 average goal per game, better than Casillas and any other goal keepers in that league. His great performances brought him El Zamora award (Best goal keeper of the season) in Spanish La Liga. As Chelsea supporter, I’m proud of him and his achievements.
It has not ended yet, he also broke the record as the youngest player to win El Zamora award in La Liga history. He won this trophy at the age of 21, broke the record of Juan Carlos Ablanedo who won the award at the age of 27. It also made him become the sixth Atletico GK to win the Zamora Trophy (Best GK award) since Jose Francisco Molina in 1995/96.
If you’re not a fan of him, you should be.
The Belgium has talked about his future. As I remember, he said his future will be decided by the next Chelsea manager (The Special One), but he’s keen to spend another year on loan at Atletico Madrid.
I think it’s not a bad deal if he goes back to Atletico as their loanee. Cech remains our best GK, Courtois will spend long times on the bench if he stays at Chelsea.
The most important thing for a GK is playing time. No matter how talented you are, if you lack of time on the pitch, as Goal Keeper, you’ll lose your confidence. So, yes, he has to be loaned again for his best and ours.
We can promote Jamal Blackman to the first team as Cech back-up after Turnbull and Hilario are leaving due contract expiring. First team experience will be very good for Blackman, and Courtois can improve at Atletico Madrid with Champions League football.
Petr Cech will keep clean sheets for us until he’s too old to do that in Chelsea level (about  next 2 years) and Courtois will replace him with world-class level tag on his chest. Though it’s unfair for Courtois to wait for so long to be Chelsea’s first GK. Biggest dilemma as Chelsea fan..
However for me, the belgian has to go on loan again with Atletico Madrid next season, and show his class to the world on Champions League level tournament.
He is best youth GK talent in the world, and we have to keep him at all costs. -Crissandy
