Chelsea are set to seek a replacement for the outgoing Antonio Rudiger and Josko Gvardiol is on Thomas Tuchel’s wish list according to Sky Germany. Meanwhile, in a new report from Matt Law it is stated that Romelu Lukaku is set to hold talks over his Chelsea future with sources regarding the situation as a nightmare.
Gvardiol is a LCB and would seemingly be a like for like replacement with Rudiger with some of his top attributes being speed and strength.
Josko Gvardiol is just 20 years old and is a Croatian international so he would fit in the dressing room at Chelsea with Mateo Kovacic already a team mate of his at international level.
It’s not been confirmed how much Gvaridol would cost or even if RB Leipzig would be open to a sale this summer, but Chelsea will be chasing atleast two new defenders with Jules Kounde expected to be the top replacement option for the out going Andreas Christensen who is set to join Barcelona on a free transfer.
Chelsea are set to be in for a huge summer with the new owners taking over and a lot of business to do, Chelsea need to get rid of players and also strength significantly in multiple areas, namely midfield as Jorginho (31 ) and Kante ( 31 ) are expected to hold talks with the club on their futures with their contracts expiring in the next couple of years.
However, Chelsea’s initial focus would surely be on defence now, with Levi Colwill also expected to get a chance to impress Thomas Tuchel.
