John Terry is undoubtedly one of the greatest players who has ever embraced the beautiful game. On several occasions in his illustrious career he has verified that he is one of the best defenders in world football and without a doubt he’s been an instrumental figure in Chelsea’s resolute defence. Despite being under scrutiny from media and fans alike in the past, he has shown his leadership qualities and has showed the courage that his lion-heart possess. He’s always managed to bounce back from the toughest situations. Remember the Wayne Bridge and Anton Ferdinand saga?
Without question JT does the talking on the pitch thanks to his world-class performances, his un-questionable ability and of course his bravery. Those attributes I just mentioned really portrays his personality. As an inspiration to every Chelsea player on that pitch he’s always has to be in the right frame of mind and by golly JT’s not afraid to give them a piece of their mind. To many a blue JT is irreplaceable, but is that really the case?
Mr Roman Abramovich is itching to finally evolve and adapt this Chelsea team by importing youth into the side. So does this signal the end for JT?
Today Super Frankie Lampard, Chelsea’s all-time leading goalscorer put pen to paper on a new one year-deal at the bridge. Despite being filled with jubilation when the news broke I still feel that us blues fans will be in the same situation next season. For months and months now us Chelsea fans have passionately encouraged Roman to renew Lampard’s contract, and of course he’s eventually done that. Alternatively we have to take in the fact that if Abramovich desperately wanted Frank he would have given him that contract ages ago, but he didnt!
Personally I think it’s another indication of Roman longing for us to pursue that Barca esque play, that tici taca football that he’s been craving for so very long. It clear that Roman wants a new look Chelsea side and this is wear JT comes into the equation. I think Roman is desperate to see a young,creative,passionate,unique man leading us into the battlefield. Does this reminded you of anyone? David Luiz maybe.
The brazilian’s been dubbed as our future captain and I would be thrilled to see him wearing the captain’s armband for Chelsea. He’s an outstanding player with outstanding credentials and most importantly he is an incredibly passionate man.
His love for the blues is ever-present. He’s one of those footballers who play from the heart everything he does us from the heart ignited by love a passion. I would love to see him Chelsea captain however my only doubt is when is the right time.
Following the transition into the CDM role Luiz has developed as a player, and his all round play has greatly improved. It’s certain to see that he has bags of potential and he certainly acquires the attributes to become captain. Whether now is the right time I’m not sure.

playing tick tack will be determined by the ideology of the in-coming manager. remember, the primary aim of abramovich is to win all matches. anything after that is secondary. In addition, l dont see Luis as a polished DM, although he has the potential. t
is it just me or do anyone else note that lamps, JT, and ashley’s contract expires in the same season?? is it a plan to get rid of ‘the old guard’ the same time??? a perfect farewell or a heartbreaking end to the old guard era?? my guts tells me that will also be the time cortious will be introduced to replace petr cech?!
am seeing a bad end for our legends, i v never bin in support of fl203 signing a new contract. i would hate to see a ‘no so befitting’ end to our old guard, our legends!!

FL signing the new contract was the right thing to do given his performances.. how the old guard helps us in the transition next season and how much the young team develops will decide on the future of our old guard. This is mot abt the tiki taka crap… its about the transition and maintaining our winning capability. We dont want to become anothet Arsenal now do we??!! And the future captain shud be Cahill.. vice captain is a toss up between Luiz and Mata.
Bte.. even Ivanovic could be our captain if Cech leaves.

The reason Arsenal fans bleat on and on about their great “tradition” is that they don’t relaly have too much of it – they are very insecure and don’t like their real history being brought up at all.They have played under 3 different names and played at 4 different venues – where’s the tradition there?They are originally from SE London (Charlton way) and Norris moved them up to north London as he believed the local economy was better there (bit like Glazer moving Man Utd to a “posh” part of Manchester so that he can make more money). They are the only club never to have earned the right on the field of play to be in the top flight. Norris was later banned from being involved in league football and only escaped a jail sentence because one of his factories helped with the war effort.Their most successful period to date is the 30 s when Chapman got the best players in during bad economic times with under the table payments. They were also the first team to use performance enhancing drugs.Generally since then they have played decades of boring football but have had favour with the authorities due to their board of old Etonions (and history should teach us on the moral issues of how the English aristoricacy obtained their money). Indeed, even more recently shareholders such as Fitzman and (ex) Dein got their money from conflict diamonds (how are they mined and by whom?) and sugar futures in South Africa respectively.Their history is rife with corruption and scandal (Norris, Chapman, Storey, Graham…).No such place as “Arsenal” exists in London (excellent tradition there!) – Their home is the Woolwich and is often their nickname in London (winds them up a treat!).They now play in a stadium which is a copy of one in Lisbon – almost identical!So much for them being steeped in tradition!Oh….and as far as Dein slating Abramovich over the years, what does he end up doing?
