Todd Boehly has added LA Dodgers principal owner Mark Walter to his bid to buy Chelsea with the final deadline expected to be sometime next week. From there, Raine will submit a preferred bidder to the government with the hope for a takeover to be completed by May.
This news has provoked a good response from Chelsea fans, the Dodgers are run remarkably well in Major League Baseball and secured their first word series trophy in 2020, they compete every single season for trophies and have secured 4 most valuable players for the 2022 MLB season which starts today.
It remains to be seen if Boehly’s consortium which already included property developer Jonathan Goldstein and Swiss Billionaire Hansjorg Wyss can fight off the other front runner bid which is led by Tom Ricketts, perhaps significantly, The Ricketts Family’s bid is backed by 2 billionaires who have a staggering net worth of over £20BN + EACH, those individuals being Kenneth Griffin, the owner of hedge fund company Citadel LLC, and Dan Gilbert, the owner of the Cleveland Cavaleirs in basketball.
Todd Boehly attended Chelsea’s 3-1 loss against Real Madrid and held talks with Chelsea executives on Thursday, it’s understood he is also meeting Paul Canoville, Chelsea’s first ever black player over issues such as racism and diversity.
