Tore Andre Flo is back at Chelsea!

Tore Andre Flo has returned to Chelsea as an academy coach.
The former striker was signed from Brann in native Norway by then-Chelsea boss Ruud Gullit for £300,000 in 1997, and went on to score 50 goals for the club before a £12million move to Rangers.
And now Flo, who won 76 caps for Norway, has returned to the club where he made his name in a coaching capacity, and will be helping to develop the club’s younger players.

Back at the Bridge: Chelsea have appointed their former striker Tore Andre Flo as a youth coach

Flo previously coached youngsters part-time at Chelsea’s Cobham training centre, but has secured a full-time role.
‘I’m going to work with the academy this season. I was doing it part-time last season, and I am really looking forward to it,’ he told Chelsea TV.
‘In the academy we get all the analysis and videos so it will be very interesting to look at.
‘As a player I was at a lot of different clubs and most of all I was at this club so hopefully I can give the players some advice.
‘I’m as excited as anyone about Mourinho. He is the one everyone wanted. There will of course be pressure but he knows how to deal with that more than anyone.’
The club’s U21 team manager Dermot Drummy revealed in further detail about Flo’s new role.
He said: ‘He is going to be assisting a coach at a lower level, and help us in the U21s in the afternoons.
‘For example, we have been trying to turn Islam Feruz into a No 9 striker, and he can lend his experience to that.
‘That’s without discriminating against him as just a striker coach, he can help in every aspect.’
Flo has previous experience in working with youngsters, having set up his own academy to work with schools in the Berkshire area.
John Terry remains the last Chelsea youth graduate to cement a place in the first team, but players such as Ryan Bertrand and Nathan Ake have earned places in the squad.
Returning manager Jose Mourinho has already outlined his ambition to focus on youth and bring more players through, with hotly-tipped Nathaniel Chalobah – on loan at Watford last season – among the brightest prospects.

I guess we are tired of buying top strikers and have got him to help Chelsea have home grown strikers capable of being the top strikers and more importantly the right strikers for Chelsea.
