What a fantastic last couple of days this has been, first Manchester City at home and today a fantastic performance by the boys at the Emirates. Wenger going into the game had never beaten Jose in the last 8 meetings and at full time Jose’s run continues.
First half goal from Cesar Azpilicueta following a defensive error put Chelsea in the ascendency and we never looked back after that. A strong defensive display put Arsenal at bay before the brilliant Juan Mata made it 2-0 to the away side, a win which was very well deserved.
Knocking Arsenal out is always sweet, but doing it to the high flying Arsenal in their own backyard was just an icing on the cake.
What we learned today?
Our bench is our strength
Chelsea doesn’t just have a strong starting eleven but a squad of players who can walk into most of the starting lineups of the premier league sides.
Chelsea fielded a side with 10 changes to the lineup that faced City with Cahill the only player keeping his place in the side. Chelsea today put on show their bench strength a team of ‘backups’ that was good enough to go to the league leaders and tame them in their own backyard.
Willian’s work ethic and solid Essien
Willian’s defensive work today was remarkable the way he tracked back and helped the defense out was commendable. Essien too was fantastic on his return to the starting lineup, had a really good game considering the lack of opportunities. We might be seeing more of him as the season progress that’s for sure.
The Perfect October:
It was a month that started off with talks of crisis at Chelsea. What Crisis? Chelsea had a perfect October, winning all their matches.
Matches Played: 6
Matches Won: 6
Goals Scored: 18
Goals Conceded: 3
Surely the crisis talks are well behind us now and in the last 2 games we have played we have sent out a warning to the teams that Chelsea is on its way UP!
Magnificent Juan
Juan is taking every opportunity presented to him by Jose and taking it in some style. What a fantastic goal to seal the win. It’s about time Mata will be a first team regular and this performance is surely going to be the one that gives Jose a lot of selection problems for the game on the weekend. Juan wants his place back!
Jose continues his run over Wenger
Wenger is now 9 games without a win against Jose and if we continue to build on the early season success this run is not going to end anytime soon.
Separatg boyx gentlemen haha blue s tha colour mourinho s our father keep t up blues
What a game!!!.Arsenal,league leaders!beaten at home!!wow!!!.
Chelsea is on the march!!.We will win a double this season if we play the way we played this last 3 days.we didn’t run or wear ourselves out,we just allowed them with the ball to try and do their thing and cut them off at the Middle of our half and counter,we also looked for errors and did not care who we were playing or who the F..K is ontop of the table,we just beat!!.brilliant jose brilliant!!lol
Thanks boys and KTBFF!!
Winning two matches in a row against two top teams is a fantastic feeling, perhaps the best moment for our CFC so far this season. And MATA woooooooow what a fantastic goal, hope he would break into first team again, that’s what even iam waiting for..! And accolades to cesar for his debut chelsea goal. BLUE IS THE COLOUR!
had Mourinho not spark up this competition, do you think that the players would have worked themselves up like this? Every one is affraid to loose his position. Such first team competition is what is killing Arsenal and it will soo hit Liverpool. Watch out
Frankly, mata and willian doesn’t deserve sitting on the bench, if I were mourinho, I would bench lamps, shift oscar to pivot role, play hazard, willian n torres upfront cos’ I’m yet to see lamps’ contribution to this team..
secondly, luiz n terry pairing still remains the best to me cos cahill can hardly keep his line eg arsenal almost scored cahill couldn’t keep his line though he cleared the ball eventually…
Thank you Mr Ken. This is all I have been saying. Though I prefer Schurrle to Willian as he provides true width
I thought I was the only one thinking the same thing. Lamps the odd piece in the pivot, and I do not yet still understand why mou plays him in every game.
sure what you say is true,i think that you say is the best thing for josy to do and he should also know that mikel is very inportant in his first team
Willian was brilliant, sometimes essien looked slow, mikel controlled admirably
sure mikel is very inportant in johsys first team
Some people are missing from diz fan base, where are they?. Those saying mourinho has come to distroy the blues,I want those plastic fans to continue tlkin, mourinho haters buh who jah bless ni one curse. Ma advice for u is t keep hating nd he will keep provin you wrong.
True that. Asswipes saying that he was bad at Madrid and he will screw Chelsea. Idiots
lets not get over our heads here, i love the spirit in the Blue part of London but in defense to a little number of Chelsea fans that dint want Mou back, I tink it was more of the style of play and not a win or loose scenario and I say this as a fan who wanted Mou back, lent my voice to why we need him back but beautiful football hasn’t been some of his strong suit.. I love Mou, fear factor, team spirit, never say die, player confidence but there is always room for debate so lets close ranks all true blue bloods
could’nt agree more… “go the blues”
“beautiful football hasn’t been some of his strong suit”: What are you talking?? We didn’t play beautiful football against City, Arsenal? rubbish talking. These scrap fans make me sick, always complain.
Dear Anonymous you have your views, I have mine you say you a chelsea fan and so am I which don’t give you any right to talk trash to me.. we have played 8 games so far this season and I can say without a doubt that we din’t press our opposition for most of the games, what we do is contain the pressure, release steam which usually gets us the goal/the win we want..If you take a close look at our teams individual talent then you would know we can totally dominate games…
You mentioned mancity which I can say we looked pretty good, but the arsenal game was slow wen we where attacking, very good we had the result which I wanted but just stating facts..
And again I say this without prejudice to Mou I love and applaud as a coach/mentor and I team I get proud of each day….
As most chelsea fans, we want results but it don’t stop us from pointing out what we noticed in a game (believe thats what this forum is for)and we should do that with some form of respect..
N/B Mr anonymous next time write your name so that if you want insults I can channel it appropriately
essien has the hunger, but he looks a litle bit match rusty.mata did well, willian was fantastic, luiz & cahil kept it tight at the back, mikel kept it flowing wit simplicity, ceasar, betrand, eto & schwazer al did great.
the good thing wit chelsea is dat our second team can beat the best in epl.
The only bad I could see in chelsea’s performance yesterday:
Essien & Bertrand lost the ball alot
Lampard really shouldn’t be playing in our midfield. If we dont want to play Mikel (who bossed a midfield of Ramsey and Wilshere all night) lets pull Oscar to the pivot. The stability in midfield yesterday was something I haven’t seen in a while and this is because Mou insists on playing Lamps.
What I witnessed against Arsenal, a Chelsea team showing no sign of lethargic symptom that it had plagued the team for the past three seasons. Chelsea in every department not only matched Arsenal but surpassed the opposition by turning defense in to a fast attacking formation. The very ingredient Chelsea was missing under AVB, RDM, & RB. Well done, JM. However I still think JM needs to play Mata more often.
It was a perfect game and a well deserved victory against gunners.I think Mou will have a lots of selection headache in picking his team against Newcastle on Saturday coz players like Mikel,Mata,Willian and even Azpi has proven that they deserved to be in the 1st team.ktbffh!
@ vaak, you are on point.if jose has anytin against mikel, then he should sort it out or play oscar & ramirez instead of lamp & ramires.essien lacked cohesion & cant complete a pass but he stil has hunger 2 excel.
What’s up with the players rating after the games?
I know we’re all entitled to our opinions, but I don’t know why everybody is always whining about Frank Lampard being in the midfield…
I thought, as Chelsea fans, we’d all agree to stop picking our managers’ teams for them… I think one of the reasons our manager turnover has been so high is because we as fans apply way too much pressure on them. As far as I’m concerned, as long as the results are coming, and coming well, we shouldn’t be whining about anything.
Don’t forget that Frank Lampard has been in all of our matches this season, including the one when we were so unluckily defeated by Bayern Munich, and I’m clearly not alone in thinking he performed well, because Jose Mourinho ahs been picking him relentlessly. When his time comes to bench, he’ll bench, the same as any other player. Schurrle missed a lot of good opportunities when he started, but Mourinho persevered and he flourished. If he’d been yielding to pressure from fans, he wouldn’t have..
Let’s not ruin the beautiful atmosphere that the home and travelling fans create with their amazing chorus of “Jose Mourinhooooo”!!!!
Well done CHELSEA, u make me proud… but mourihno should be usin mikel more wit ramires in midfield n lampard is too old to be playin evry match.
As Sir Alex Ferguson to Man Utd so as Sir Jose Morinho to Chelsea. Ride on, the BLUEEEEES!
@ kevin we are not condeming great lamp, but only want jose 2 be more sincere.if you watch our matches you wil notice dat rami/mikel offers more width & balance in our team.again lamp is 34 & playing him in every match may not bring out his best.
