Chelsea went crashing out of the FA Cup after a 2-0 defeat at the Etihad, but it could have been worse. Chelsea didn’t manage even a single shot on target with just two shots on goal, just sums up how miserable the performance was.
City were fresh having not played on the weekend and made use of it in the best possible way. Missing Aguero and Fernandinho, City still kept a strong grip on the game and Nasri returning to make a substitute appearance really helped them.
We didn’t look threatening at all:
Chelsea looked really tired just like we saw against West Brom, even though i wasn’t expecting us to win today but the performance put out by our players wasn’t the most pleasing. Goalscoring wise we never really posed a threat and defensively we really missed John Terry. In midfield there was no intensity at all, the tempo was really slow which allowed City to keep their shape nullifying any chance of us posing a threat.
David Luiz had a really poor game today:
Cahill – JT is the best possible CB pairing for us and today once again it showed. Luiz make no mistake has fantastic ability but having ability is one thing but realizing it on the pitch is the real deal and Luiz fails to show up as a defender. He can play well in the double pivot but with every passing game as a fan i find it hard to see him getting a spot in Chelsea’s defense.
He was caught watching the linesman as Nasri breezed passed him to make it 2-0. It’s the defense that gives us the shot at the title considering our weak forward line and David Luiz is fast becoming the weak link.
David, i love you but as a Chelsea fan i want performances. We need JT fit for the UCL knockouts or else King DD will give Luiz nightmares.
Hazard needs a bit of rest:
This man over the past 2 months has been brilliant for us, definitely our best player but he is tired and it’s quite evident. He had a quiet game against Brom and today was no different. Knowing Chelsea’s game style it is very hard to keep playing high intensity football consistently and Hazard by the looks of it has reached his limit and needs a couple of games off to freshen him up.
We need Eden at the peak of his powers at the business end of the season. Recharge his batteries Jose!

Jose could have made changes but didn’t:
Jose could have made changes to the Starting XI and probably should have given Schurrle or Salah a start but he didn’t, why? Either he didn’t trust the quality of the backup players to avoid a fair beating from City or he simply had too much respect for the Cup.
Chelsea are not out though and have got the 2 bigger prizes to aim at, League and the UCL. Chelsea needs to prioritize what comes first? For me, having achieved the Holy Grail and the Europa League over the past two seasons now is the time we taste some domestic glory too, so Chelsea by all means should prioritize the league over the UCL, this season atleast. We need to keep our players fresher for league games because i believe who ever has the longest run in Europe will falter in the league.
Anyways we have a good 1 week rest for the players to freshen up. Need to overcome this minor blip and try taking all three points against Everton.

Jose style of playin not worked. DM and AM not communicated. Rami is not a good passer to strikers. Mikel slowness, poor tackle & passing & playing standing in one position plus absence of physical No 10 players in a team. Defeners lack of concentration esp D. Luiz cost us. I didn’t blame strikers in this. Z difference of z game is CFC poor DM & AM and City best DM not others. Z game showed we hv to buy physical No 10 and other Matic like player
Just look at you. Mikel was our best player in that game, but your hating soul will always use him as a scape goat. What did Hazard or Willian play? What did Luiz who was run ragged play? Puhleese!
I think Mourinho should learn to keep his sides really fresh for each game,that’s what a big game is for.. I hate to see our players so tired,and when they reach this tiredness,they sit deep and can’t even absorb any attacks to say that they’d counter. I remember when we won west-ham,and then played Basel..and we lost,it’s the exact same thing. Mourinho should try and be flexible for the cup matches..

It is either Mou doesn’t trust his back up players enough. If he was too unsure abt dem- He shd v given some a run against West Brom.
U don’t expect to get defence splitting forward passes when u v Matic, Mikel and Ramires in d midfield. Pellegrini knew Jose would come with the same gameplan of cutting his wide players; Navas n d full backs den Chelsea countering, he opted for a more technical player, Milner which gave Yaya more license to forward with Milner n Garcia doing d dirty work- We were broken down through the centre. Too easy.
All in all, d boys were burnt out.
Jose, pls trust d other guys again- dey cn play a part.
Cole, Salah, Schuurle, Torres, Ba , Lampard can play a part.

The team Can win without hazard. Oscar can win games on his own. His willingness to shoot is his best attribute considering that in chelsea no one likes to shoot. If u doonnt shoot, u wont score. The loss was well deserved that’s why it was not really painful. Against everton, rest ramires annd willian bring in lampard and schurrle. Chelsea is going in the right direction. I think we all can see that. Luiz is a poor defender. Mou already saw that, that’s y we bought zouma. The only way luiz can have future @ chelsea is in midfield.ktbffh
Tiredness is not an excuse. This is why we have a large squad. We need to utilize to avoid this issue of tiredness. Salah is not all that good i don’t understand why Mourinho will use him instead of Schurrle. Flop of the match the entire team especially Luiz, Ramires and Mikel. I learnt that we missed Terry greatly.
I guess that it will be very difficult to judge or comment on a particular match u dont have the opportunity to watch.Its very clear that the duo of Willian and Ramires need rest and thats what cost us this match,nobody should ever blame the matic and mikel coz they tried their best.The likes of Oscar,Schurrle,Salah and even Cole should be given time to start.Coz Cole would have stopped Jovetic from scoring that 1st goal!
Actually, we should learn how to have the courage to win the game. Not just because we already won two previous match and we think the outcome will be the same again. Stop dribbling too long and keep playing with each other. You become tired if you try to dribble so long and try to past player like Toure and Kompany. Play smart, not hard. You are professional player and you should know how to encounter tactical fouling played by City. Stop passing to the back. Use other player that available like Oscar and Schurle. Be patient and always have the mindset to attack very fast not defend very deep in our territory. As a small horse, we should learn how to play as a team, not as an individual. Hazard you should know that, even Messi and Ronaldo also pass to their teammate and not become stupid selfish out there.
What we learn is simple: Mikel is not a DM and David Luiz is not a Defender. Our Defenders midfielders must be ONLY David Luiz and Matic, don’t put anymore Luiz in defence. The truth is that Mou is so stubborn. We lost 2 points because of Luiz in defence and we win at city last week because Luiz was in DM. Simple Regarding Schrulle, this guy can play rami role as double pivot. Why mou doesn’t want to do that is unbelievable. Now mou says players were tired and you have 5 players who can play but you keep the same palyers. Simply unbelievable!
