Brazilian winger Willian has completed his £32 million move to Chelsea after he was granted a work permit, according to reports.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho gave evidence on the 25-year-old’s behalf at the hearing today in order to seal the £32 million deal.
The 25-year-old has signed on a five-year deal from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala for a reported £30million and will wear the number 22 shirt at Stamford Bridge.
“I’m very happy to be here, it’s been a dream of mine to come and play here,” the winger told the Chelsea website.
“Chelsea are one of the best clubs in the world, and now I’m going to play for one of the best managers in the world, so I’m very happy and looking forward to it.”
The former Anzhi Makhachkala man completed his medical at Chelsea over the weekend.
The move to the Europa League champions comes as Mourinho hijacked Tottenham’s bid to sign the winger – having already completed his Spurs medical, the deal to sign with the North London club was close to finalisation, however, the Blues came in with an improved late bid.
Willian looks set to make his Chelsea debut after the international break against Everton on September 14.
The twice-capped Brazil international has already changed his Twitter bio to show his affiliation to Chelsea, the move is yet to be confirmed by Chelsea, although a club statement is expected soon.
